EVANIVALDO CORREA

BIO

Born in Mexico City beginning his studies in 1998 at The College of Music under the tutelage of Professor Gracia Alvarez and Hector Sosa. From year 2002 to 2005 participated in the workshop of operistic refinement SIVAM (Mexico’s most prestigious Young Artist Development Program) with Professor Cesar Ulloa and under the instruction of Professor Teresa Rodriguez. He had the Placido Domingo Scholarship. In September 2005 entry into AVA (Academy of Vocal Arts) in Philadelphia with the professor Carlos Serrano.
He has actively participated in master classes taught by Eugene Kohn, Denise Massé, Kamal Khan, Susan Graham, Tito Capobianco, Guy Montanov and David Blackburn, as well as refresher courses with Danielle Orlando, Ludwig Margules, Rugy Tagle, Jose Caballero, Peter Webster, Fabrizio Melano, Catherine Ciesinski, Claude Corbeil, Joyce Fieldsend, Marioara Trifan, Andre Dosantos and Gerard Fontaine. It was led by Christofer Macatsoris, Richard A. Raub, Kay Walker Castaldo,Bruno aprea, Gianluca Martinenghi, Stephen Lawless, Massimo Gasparon, Greg Ritchey and Bruce Stasyna.
In his repertory works stand out as “Rigoletto” and “Requiem” G. Verdi, “Lucia Di Lammermoor” G. Donizetti, “Le Villi” G. Puccini, “La Navarraise” J. Massenet, “Cosi fan tutte” and “Don Giovanni” W. A. Mozart, “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” G. Rossini,and some works by J. S. Bach, Alessandro Scarlatti, G. F. Hendel, F. Schubert, R. Schumann, G Bizet, Buzzi-Peccia, Francesco Paolo Tosti, Umberto Giordano, F. Cilea, R. Strauss, Charles Gounod and Vincenzo Bellini.
Throughout his career has been presented in some major theaters of Mexico and the United States such as The Palace of Fine Arts, the National Auditorium, Bass Concert Hall, Municipal Auditorium, Mahalia Jackson Theatre, Jones Hall for the Performing Arts, Rosemont Theatre, Centenal Hall, CA theatre for the Performing Arts, Universal Amphitheatre, Sherwood Hall, Saroyan Hall, San Jose Center for the Performing Arts, Jackson Hall, Helen Corning Warden Theater, Central Bucks South, Warrington, Centennial Hall, Haverford, Commerce Bank Arts Center , Sewell, The Kravis Center, West palm beach. He was a Houston Grand Opera Semi-finalist and Los Angeles Opera Semi-finalist. He won the Maritza Aleman competition in Mexico City.
In 2010 won first place in the competition “The young voices of the Bel canto” in Mexico city, and a scholarship in La Scuola dell´Opera Italiana in Bologna Italia. He was invited for two seasons by the Palm Beach Opera for the Young Artists Program where he performed such roles as Abdallo in Nabucco, Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte(family performance) Lurcanio in Ariodante, The Boy I in Trouble in Tahiti, Javier Moreno in Luisa Fernanda, Spoletta in Tosca, Ferrando in Cosi fan tutte, Jupiter in Semele, Martin in Tenderland, Tybalt in Romeo et Juliette, Romeo in Romeo et Juliette (Family performance), Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor, as well as covering the Tenor in Verdi Requiem, B. F. Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Rodolfo in La Boheme and Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor.
He has participated for three years in “The French Festival” in Acapulco City with roles like Il Duka di Mantua in Rigoletto, Werther, Faust and Des Grieux in Manon.
